Digging Deeper

It may be a lost art, but I pride myself on my ability to find words in the dictionary in under 30 seconds. I realize google can find it much faster, but I really believe being able to use a dictionary is a skill everyone should have. Each week, students watch The Week In Rap on Flocabulary and practice this skill using new vocabulary words.

Each week, we recap the current events of the past week and discover key vocabulary terms. Students use the context of the rap lyrics to help determine the meaning of the words and then use a dictionary to check their work and find the real definitions.
